Tied by Eric Meredith for the Emerger Swap

Hook: Wet Fly #12-#20
Thread: Black 6/0
Body: Peacock Herl

Tying Instructions:
Flies don't get any easier to tie than this one here. Simply attach a few peacock herls to the back of the hook to the front of the hook. The amount of herls you use depends on the size of the hook in use. Tie down the peacock herl at the eye of the hook and tie off you thread. After you are finished trim your fly so that it has a front to back tapered look. You can reinforce the peacock with your thread to make a more durable fly by wrapping the herl around the thread first, then wrapping it around the hook.

Fly Information:
This fly can be used in several different ways and can be fished at any time of the year. First of all you can use this fly fished as an emerger just under the surface. Since the peacock doesn't weigh much, this is where the fly naturally goes in the water. You can also use this fly as a nymph by adding some weight in front of the fly. Either way this fly is fished it should be fished upstream in a dead drift. I think you'll be amazed at the effectiveness of this fly. Fly fisherman have always said that there is something about using peacock on a fly that seems to attract fish to it. This fly is good proof of that.
