Tied by Joe Leavitt for the Emerger Swap

Hook: Dry Fly #14-#20
Thread: Tan 6/0
Rib: Fine Copper Wire
Head: Glass Bead
Thorax: Dark Olive Hare's Ear Dubbing
Parasol: White Poly Wing tied with 6X tippet

Tying Instructions:
First before putting the hook in the vise, slide a glass bead onto the hook. Now you need to prepare the parasol. To do this, before attaching it to the hook first cut short section of 6X tippet. Tie the 6X tippet to the poly wing so as to make it flare up to a half mooon shape(see picture). Now put the hook in the vise and attach some tan thread to it. Make sure to wrap the thread on tightly and then place it just behind the bead. To attach your parasol tie a knot (I prefer Duncan Loop) around the hook. The parasol should be just behind the bead and know wrap the thread around the line and know in a figure eight fashion. Make sure it is tied down tight and you may want to apply a little glue here. Now wrap the thread to the back of the hook and attach some small diameter copper wire. Wrap the thread forward to just behind the parasol, making sure to cover the entire hook with the thread. Now wrap your copper wire forward, spacing it out evenly for a rib and tie it off just behind the parasol. Then dub a small thorax area of the fly of dark brown hare's ear dubbing(or similar substitute) just behind the parasol. After dubbing the fly, whip finish for the finished fly.

Fly Information:
This fly is actually to be fished just under the surface film. The parasol is designed to float on top of the water. Make sure to apply floatant to the parasol. The depth the fly is under the water can be changed. When you are tying the fly, a longer tippet length used for the parasol will make the fly sit under the surface film farther. I have never used this fly, but can think of times when I would have loved to have this in my box on previous fishing trips.
