Tied by Kevin Meredith for the Dry Fly Swap

Hook: Dry Fly #6-#10
Thread: Light Blue 6/0
Body: Trimmed Hackle, Foam
Wing: Deer Hair, Light BluePolypropelene
Legs: Black Rubber Legs
Head: Deer Hair
Tail: Black Rubber Legs

Tying Instructions:
First attach your thread and tie down one strip of black rubber legs that are folded back to form the tail. These shoudl extend backwards from the curve of the hook in a fork. Now cut two strips of foam for the body. The foam strips are to be cut so that the back part is rounded like you would see on the body of a real bug. Each piece of foam should be about the length of the hook shank. Attach these where you did the tail with the front edge only extending almost to the eye of the hook with the front part of the body only extending 2/3 the way up the hook shank. Also cut a piece of brown hackle and apply at the same loaction. Wrap the thread forward, making sure to space out the wraps evenly to the front of the body, then follow it up with the hackle. Now cut a health piece of polypro that is a little bit longer than the body. Tie this down just in front of the body, it should extend back to the rounded portion of the body near the tail. Now to tie in the bullet style head get a pinch of deer hair and tie it down where the front of the body stops with the tips of the deer hair extending past the eye of the hook. Wrap your thread around the deer hair tightly and almost to the eye of the hook. Then wrap it back to the previous spot, just in front of the body. Fold the deer hair back over the polypro wing and the tips should extend to the same location as the polypro wing does. Tie down the deer hair with 3 wraps of the thread. Then cut two strips of black rubber legs and attach them at the same location. Make sure to have one on each side of the head. Then cut a small rectangular patch of yellow foam and tie it down on the top of the fly. Tie off for the finished fly.

Fly Information:
This fly was tied with the idea of having a big high floating fly that you could use as an indicator with a dropper. This fly is pretty much unsinkable with all the highly floatant material used on it. It can be tied in several different colors. This fly is not the easiest one to tie and may take a while to tie. Make sure you have everything tied on tightly before you go on to the next ingredient because you don't want this fly to rotate on the hook.
