Tied by Bart Fitzpatrick for the Dry Fly Swap

Hook: Dry Fly #10-#20
Thread: Black 6/0
Tail: Unknown (Black Hackle Fibers)
Body: Grey Dubbing
Wing: Grizzly Hackle Tips
Hackle: Two strips of Grizzly Hackle

Tying Instructions:
First attach the thread to the hook. Then you want to attach the tail. The tail on this fly is rather long. The original material for this fly unknown, but black hackle or grizzly hackle fibers will work. Attach several of these. Then dub the body forward about 2/3 the way up the hook shank. At this point use two strips of grizzly saddle hackle and start to wind the hackle forward. When you get down towards the tips of the hackle, wrap it back to just behind the front of where the hackle extends. Then tie down the hackle so that the tips extend straight up. The tips should stick out about as far as the hackle, does. It is ok if they stick out slightly farther. Then get the thread behind the eye of the hook and tie off.

Fly Information:
This fly is a variation of the popular Adams series of flies. The adams flies were originally meant to imitate a mayfly, but they can be used for just about anything. I know some flyfisherman that if they could use only one dry fly they would take an Adams.
