Tied by Soren Finne for the Emerger Swap

Hook: Dry Fly #8-#16
Thread: Grey 6/0
Wingcase: Yellow Foam
Tail: Fox Tail Fibers
Body: Fox Tail Underfur
Head: Fox Tail Underfur

Tying Instructions:
First tie on your grey thread and leave it at the rear of the hook, just above the bend in the hook. Now attach some fibers for the tail from your fox tail. The tail fibers should be different lengths, with some as long as the hook shank. Tie these down. Then dub the body of your fly forward of fox tail underfur or similar material. Dub it forward like this for about 3/4 the way up the hook shank. Then cut an appropriately sized piece of foam to attach as the wingcase. The size is different depending on the size of hook you are using, but the piece of foam should be long enough to be tie down were you finished dubbing the body and folded over and still make it past the eye of the hook. Tie down the foam just in front of the body. The "bottom" part of the foam should actually be sticking up and laid out over the top of the body for now. Now dub the head with fox tail underfur. The head should be slightly larger than the body. Now fold the foam over the top of the head and tie it down just behind the eye of the hook. Make sure to clip off the extra foam. Now whip finish for the finished fly.

Fly Information:
This fly is to be fished dead drifted and the placement of the fly in the water is really up to you. You can fish it as an emerger in the surface film or fish it you would a nymph. Soren assures me that this fly is a killer.
