Tied by Denis Goulding for the Emerger Swap

Hook: Dry Fly #12-#24
Thread: Black 8/0
Body: Black Dubbing
Wing: Brown CDC fibers
Ribbing: Blue Tinsel

Tying Instructions:
First attach your black thread and wrap it so it is near the bend in the hook. Now attach your ribbing material. If you don't have any blue or anything you can substitute, I suggest you use silver or gold tinsel. Now dub the body forward with some black dubbing to just behind the eye. Now wrap your ribbing material forward, making sure to space it out evenly between each wrap. For the emerger wing use quality CDC feathers. Begin by selecting medium sized feathers. Strip feather barbules from both sides of the quill and tie them on the hook just behind the eye. They should stick up at about a 45 degree angle. Now whip finish for the finished fly.

Fly Information:
First of all CDC stands for Cul De Canard and these are feathers off a duck that are near the area that releases oil for them to float. These flies are NOT to be greased with floatant. This fly is very hard to see in the water and can be quite difficult to fish. It is to be used when the fish are just "sipping" at emergers in the surface film.
