Tied by Alex Dennehy for the Dry Fly Swap

Hook: Dry Fly #14-#24
Thread: Light Olive 8/0
Body: Light Olive Dubbing
Wing: White Polywing
Tail: White Hackle Fibers
Hackle: White

Tying Instructions:
Attach your thread to the hook and attach the tail fibers. Strip some white fibers off of the lower portion of your hackle strips and use them for your tail. Then apply the wing. Using white polywing or another synthetic material attach this material to the hook at about the 2/3 point up the hook shank. Then wrap several strands of thread just in front of where the wing was attached so that the wing stands up straight. Now go back and dub the body forward, to just before the wing. Then attach the hackle and wrap it forward to just behind the eye of the hook and tie off your fly.

Fly Information:
The blue wing olive, or otherwise called the BWO, is a very popular fly for flyfisherman all over. It is a very simple fly to tie that can be tied in very small sizes that you will see the naturals in. This fly can be tied in several different colors, just make sure to match your thread to the body color.
